올려진 시카고 강의 도개교들

현재 시카고 상업지구를 폭도들로부터 보호하기 위해 시카고 강의 모든 도개교를 올려 도심의 중요요점을 방어하고 있음. 시카고시의 중요한 경제지인만큼 물리적으로 보호하겠다는 건데, 현재 레딧에서는 다크나이트가 현실로 왔다는 반응과 미국의 빈부격차, 그리고 경찰이 무엇을 우선적으로 생각하는지를 보여준다며 분노하는 반응이 대부분임. 

현지 뉴스 업데이트 : 

As of this morning, the National Guard has been mobilized and will be arriving in Chicago throughout the day. The Mayor has expressed a plan to utilize the Guard as a security perimeter to exercise some control over access to the downtown area and central business district. The overnight curfew will remain in effect, and downtown will be closed for business today. Non-essential movement in the area bordered by Division St. (N), Halsted (W), 18th St. (S) and the lakefront (E) will be prohibited, and bridge control will again be utilized in a tactical attempt to inhibit mass movement. For all who were caught up in the detours and travel restrictions yesterday, you know from that awful experience that even innocent bystanders can be prevented from legitimate movement, even if merely trying to return home.
