As a transplanted Phils fan my 9 yr old daughter and I attended a game vs. the Rays in St. Pete and were there early. Knowing some Korean, I let my daughter call out to him during warm-ups in his native language. He smiled and continued on with his workout, but 20 mins later he came over and threw her a ball, which she dropped. He wouldn't let her keep the ball until she caught it and 'played catch with her for six or so tosses. She finally did catch it, got a huge cheer and an ever bigger smile. After the game, he was well on his way to the dugout but came back over to sign that same ball specifically for her. I wish we could all be so supportive and respectful of each other as he was, and I wonder how many others he has done the same for... my guess would be too many to count. 박찬호는 한국팬들만 신경쓰는게 아니다. 나와 내 9살 딸은 필리스 팬으로써 (탬파베이) 레이스와의 경기에 일찍 도착하였다. 한국말을 조금 알기에 내 딸한테 그를 워밍업 도중에 불러보라고 했다. 그는 미소 지으며 다시 연습을 했는데 20분후에 그가 와서 내 딸한테 공 하나를 던저주었다. 그런데 그는 그 공을 떨어트리지 않고 잡기전엔 못 가지게 해서 한 5-6번 주고받았다. 마침내 공을 잡았을때 그는 환성을 지으며 크게 미소지었다. 게임이 끝난 후 그는 덕아웃에서부터 와서 그 공을 내 딸에게 싸인해주었다. 난 우리 모두가 그와 같이 따뜻하고 사람들들 존중해줬으면 좋겠다. 얼마나 많은 사람들에게 그렇게 해주었을까?.... 셀 수 없이 많았겠지. ==============================================================================================
